There is not much that can slip through the eye of the media, or the people…

Especially if it’s intentionally made public by a public figure. Even more so, if it’s made by the President of the United States.

Some might think that this article doesn’t belong here. But, when it comes to politics, even fashion matters.

Oh, and did I mention the hypocrisy?

Well, if I haven’t yet, here it is.

The President shared a rather peculiar picture this Labor day. As per usual, he used Tweeter to communicate with his supporters (or anti-supporters…).

Here’s the tweet:

You probably won’t see it at first. The tweet’s caption is:

“We are building our future with American hands, American labor, American iron, aluminum and steel. Happy #LaborDay!”.

So, the first couple is presumably touted to represent what’s great about using all American products and getting the most of the American labor.

The curious thing in this picture is the dress of the First Lady. Maybe he wants her as an exception, but the First Lady is wearing a $2,255 dress by a Greek designer, which was manufactured in Italy with French materials.

Shocking, don’t you think?

Well, maybe not so much, considering that this is Trump we’re talking about.

In any case, it’s rather difficult to miss the hypocrisy of Trump’s tweet, in addition to the extra sincerity of this coming out right before the DACA announcement, which draws a hard line around who “gets” to be an American. If Trump’s own statement about what’s considered American has so many obvious holes, maybe the whole idea doesn’t mean the same to our President as it means to us.

What do you think about this? Do you think that if you were the President, you’d think of checking this out before posting this picture and connecting it to this specific caption?
